The organization supports the guarantee of the right of a secret ballot for all union votes, thus opposes S. 560 & H.R. 1409.

Fiscal Year 2010 Budget Resolution - The organization supported amendments to establish a fund for estate tax relief, provide assurance that carbon reduction programs do not result in increased fertilizer, diesel, gasoline, electricity or natural gas prices, and provide assurance that carbon reduction programs do not cause significant job loss in manufacturing and energy-intensive regions of the United States. The organization opposed any amendment to reopen the 2008 Farm Bill.
Fiscal Year 2010 Labor, Health and Education Appropriations Bill - The organization supports funding for Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act (Perkins CTE) programs.
Fiscal Year 2010 Agriculture Appropriations Bill - The organization supports funding for programs authorized by the 2008 Farm Bill. The organization opposes a provision pertaining to poultry trade with China.

The Renewable Fuel Standard Improvement Act (H.R. 2409) - Legislation to amend the Clean Air Act pertaining to renewable fuels and lifecycle greenhouse gas emissions.
"Proposed Endangerment and Cause or Contribute Findings for Greenhouse Gases under Section 202(a) of the Clean Air Act - Proposal from the Environmental Protection Agency to find that greenhouse gases endanger public health and welfare by contributing to climatic changes. The issues of paperwork and recordkeeping for agricultural producers as well as expanded authorities for the Food and Drug Administration to regulate and oversee on-farm production activities are of interest to the organization.
The Food Safety Modernization Act of 2009 (H.R. 875) - Legislation to establish the Food Safety Administration within the Department of Health and Human Services to protect the public health by preventing food-borne illness, ensuring the safety of food, improving research on contaminants leading to food-borne illness, and improving security of food from intentional contamination, and for other purposes. Potential on-farm regulation of production practices is a concern of the organization.
