Actively lobbied and supported the passage of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 (H.R.1 and S. 1). Focused specifically on provisions relating to agriculture and rural developments. Those issues include, but are not limited to:
- Tax credits for businesses making investments in broadband infrastructure in rural and underserved areas;
- Extension of the Renewable Energy Production Tax Credit for electricity produced using wind and biomass;
- Increases in tax credits for alternative refueling property, the Energy Research Credit, for Clean Renewable Energy Bonds and spending for renewable energy research;
- Extension of higher Alternative Minimum Tax exemptions (AMT patch);
- Repeal of the three percent withholding tax on government payments for goods and services;
- Extension of higher Section 179 small business expensing levels and of bonus depreciation.
- $7 billion for broadband deployment with half of the funding directed to USDAs Rural Utilities Service (RUS);
- $20 billion to jump start Health Information Technology (HIT);
- $600 million to train primary health care providers who agree to practice in underserved communities through the National Health Service Corps;
- $4.6 billion for the Corps of Engineers with stipulation that funding be directed to the rehabilitation and modernization of inland waterway locks and dams;
- $30 billion for highway and bridge construction with emphasis on rural highways;
- Funding for the following USDA programs:
o Distance Learning, Telemedicine and Broadband Program
o Biorefinery Assistance Program
o Rural Energy for American Program
o Rural Business-Cooperative Service
o Rural Communities Program
o Rural water and waste facilities grants and loans
o Competitive research grants
o Agriculture credit programs
o IT improvements

Lobbied S. 527 which would and would prohibit the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) from issuing any permit under the Clean Air Act for any greenhouse gas emissions resulting from biological processes associated with livestock production. S. 527 would effectively prevent the agency from including livestock emissions under Title V of the Clean Air Act. Have asked OFB members to contact Senators Ron Wyden and Jeff Merkley. OFB has also sent an organization letter supporting the legislation.

The funding request specifically requested funds through the Wildlife Services Program funding in Agriculture Appropriations and administered through USDA-APHIS.
