Educational effort with new Member of Congress on farm programs, conservation, USDA technology issues, USDA Rural Development and Farm Bureaus opposition to cuts to direct payments and crop insurance. Also discussed actively engaged definitions under consideration by USDA.

Voiced opposition to HR 2454 as it was debated in the House and in preparation for debate in the Senate. Shared information about the likely impacts of the measure on farmers and ranchers. Additionally offered support to amendments by Senator Bond that would restrict senate debate and prohibit Senate action on climate legislation without a cloture vote. Also worked in opposition to S 787, the Clean Water Restoration Act, and in anticipation of similar house efforts.
