H.R. 5577: Provisions that would allow DHS to force drinking water systems to change water treatment methods, and provisions that would provide grant assistance to water systems for security-based treatment changes.
Submitted FY09 funding requests asking that representatives and senators support continued federal funding for WaterISAC. Worked with Senate staff to organize a Dear Colleague letter on the topic.
Met with staff from EPA and DHS to shape the creation of new vulnerability assessment tools for use by water utilities.
Worked with DHS and EPA staff to influence the criteria used to establish the risk-priority bins of critical assets within the drinking water and wastewater sector.
