Tax Extenders Legislation: Lobbied to temporarily extend expired or expiring tax provisions, including 15-year leasehold improvement depreciation and for the expensing of brownfields remediation costs. Lobbied to extend accelerated bonus depreciation provisions.
S.687: A bill to amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to permanently extend the 15-year recovery period for qualified leasehold improvement property, qualified restaurant property, and qualified retail improvement property.
H.R.1265: To amend the Internal Revenue Code of 1986 to permanently extend the 15-year recovery period for qualified leasehold improvement property, qualified restaurant property, and qualified retail improvement property.
Midwestern Disaster Area (MDA) Bonds: lobbied to extend the sunset date for MDA bonds from December 31, 2012 to December 31, 2014 or December 31, 2015.
New Markets Tax Credit (NMTC) Program: lobbied to extend the New Markets Tax Credit program which was established in the Community Renewal Tax Relief Act of 2000 to spur economic revitalization in low-income communities.
Carried Interest: lobbied against changing the tax treatment of real estate partnership carried interest compensation from capital gains to ordinary income.
